What is WordPress?

Now that we have a domain and URL that people can find, we need something to put content into this domain. This is where WordPress comes in. WordPress is a website creation tool that will allow users to build and mange websites without any coding experience necessary. Let’s install WordPress so we can begin building our first website!

WordPress Installation Step-By-Step Guide:

Head over to cikeys.com and enter your cPanel or “Dashboard” option in the top right hand site navigation. Click on the “WordPress” app listed under the “Applications” panel at the top of your cPanel. This will take you to the WordPress Installatron page.

Step Five

The Settings Section Setup

Scroll down to the bottom of the wizard until you find the “Settings” section. From here you can modify the “Administrator Username” and “Administrator Password” if you wish. CIKeys works with your MyCI credentials so most of the time you will not need admin access. You can also change the “Website Title” and “Website Tagline” of the WordPress website that will be displayed on your home screen depending on theme settings. These can be modified later if needed.

Step Six

Completing The WordPress Installation

Once you have finished going through the sections of the WordPress Installation Wizard, click the small “+ Install” button at the bottom right hand side of the page and watch it run! Once the installation process is done, you will be taken to the website instance on Installatron. This Installatron page is where you will now go to when you need to view or modify your website, navigating to the specific Installatron page will be covered in the following sections.
